My name is Viry Casas. I am a wife, mother of 3 girls, Sunday school teacher & currently working on my alternative teaching certificate to teach kindergarten!
Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I believe every child can learn and their early education can influence who they will be in life.
I have been attending my church for a while, though we never had a children's ministry. One Sunday, during the preaching I felt God's presence and the desire to start working with kids at my church. The following Sundays involved planning and praying. We officially started classes September 8, 2013. I am thrilled!!
One of the firsts challenges I have encountered is finding teachers to help, but I trust in God. I currently have 4 teachers and myself. Since we have a small church I decided to divide them into 2 classes. One is ages 3-5 & the other is 6-11, I also have a nursery teacher. I'm praying that once the church grows we will have more classes. I'm also working on fundraising ideas since we do not have materials nor equipped classrooms. I will post all things teaching & Sunday school!
